Hump Day Hook 1/30

This is a blog hop where participants share one paragraph from a WIP or finished book. For the entire list of participants click on this link. My paragraph is from my soon to be released novella, Valkyrie Slumbering and is a continuation of last week's excerpt:

The man is near six feet tall with a broad, muscular frame and dark brown hair cropped unusually short. Such dark hair sets him apart from the sea of wheat colored locks that are natural to my people. There is a certain allure to that darkness. Leather armor stretches tight across his chest, marking him as a warrior. The long sword across his back speaks of his refinement. His handsome features are accented by blue eyes as bright as sapphires. They are the kind of eyes a woman longs to see hovering over her in the night. My gaze catches on the delicate point of one ear that pushes through his hair. Alfhiem blood and not afraid to show it, that’s a rare and dangerous combination.

I hope you enjoyed the sneak peek, don't forget to check out the others! Check us out on Twitter at the #HumpDayHook hashtag. By the way, if you're a writer and you haven't participated in this hop, I highly recommend it. Humpers, if you stop by and comment or follow, I'll be sure to do the same!

Review of Celestial Seduction

If you haven't discovered the One Night Stand series yet through Decadent Publishing, quick click on this link, you'll thank me in the morning. The first One Night Stand book that I read was Celestial Seduction by Jessica E. Subject and it totally hooked me on the multi-author series. I had no idea sci-fi could be so hot before I read this.

The characters at both sweet and steamy at the same time, making you ache for them in more ways than one.  Carrie is emotionally damaged after her divorce because she couldn't give her husband children and Frey had been betrayed by his emotionless intended and seeks a connection his own kind can't give him. Their way to each other isn't as easy as a one night stand, but the payoff is well worth the winding path that brings them together. The author made me a fan with this book!

About Celestial Seduction:

At the end of his obligated commitment to the Space Service, Frey Berger decides to stay on Earth to further experience human emotions rather than return to Ginnun where his intended has already mated with another. Looking for real love and someone to accept him for what he is, Frey enlists in Madame Evangeline’s popular dating service. Although he does not understand the concept of a one-night stand, he hopes to find his perfect mate.

Carrie Cooper’s husband divorced her for someone who could provide him with children, leaving her with little self-confidence and no desire to let a man hurt her again. Her best friend convinces her to join a dating service, claiming Carrie needs to get laid, while not winding up with a broken heart since her date requires no commitment after the night is over.

Although several misunderstandings nearly derail them before the date has even begun, Carrie and Frey end up becoming closer than they ever believed possible. Still, Frey will need to convince Carrie that her perfect mate isn’t human at all, and that one night can lead to a forever love.

This novel contains explicit sex.

Hump Day Hook

This is a blog hop created by the lovely KERRIANNE COOMBES where participants post one paragraph from a WIP or finished book for all to see. For the entire list of participants click on Kerrianne's link above. My paragraph is from my soon to be released novella, Valkyrie Slumbering:

Grinding my teeth, I block out their voices. Even a moment is too much to forget myself. I tug the hair back over my ear, concealing it. As I empty the coins into my pouch and return the bowl to my pack I notice a man from the audience lingering. Only one. Not much of a surprise considering the mistake I just made. Although, even after revealing what I am, the type I hunt would linger about. With only one drawn in, it appears I have chosen the wrong town.

I hope you enjoyed the sneak peek, don't forget to check out the others at this link!

Six Sentence Sunday

Today is Six Sentence Sunday, a blog hop in which writers share six sentences from their work. It is the brain child of romance author Sara Brookes. For a full list of all the writers participating today, click on this link. Now for a Six Sentence Sunday excerpt of my novella, Valkyrie Slumbering:

Fire dances across me as our lips brush. Though I meant to keep it brief, I’m drawn in like a moth. My lips urge his apart and I thrust my tongue into his mouth. He tastes of molasses. Sparks spread into me as his tongue dances with mine, making me want to press against him and feel how hard that body really is. But I don’t. Instead I pull back.

My Review of Bad to the Bone

While on the hunt for a good read I came across Vivi Anna's Bad to the Bone. I had never heard of the author but since this novella was free on B&N and the description was good enough to capture my interest, I decided to give it a shot. I'm glad I did!

From the first page the author digs her fingernails into you with an intriguing story, as Olivia's ambulance crashes and she is kidnapped. Things heat up from there when Olivia feels a deep connection to her kidnapper and starts to realize he isn't quite~normal. The connection between them heats up and the story along with it. I give it a strong three and a half flames and would definitely recommend it. It passed the test: I'm interested enough to buy the next book.

Here is more about the book:

After a terrible accident in the ambulance, EMT Olivia Jordan didn't expect to wake up chained to a bed. The tall dark sexy man holding her prisoner is not what she expected either. But Garrick Blackthorn's not your every day kidnapper, no, there's something extraordinary about him. Something that attracts Olivia. Something dark and secret.

This novel contains explicit sex and some violence.

Release Announcement

It's official, my erotic fantasy novella, Valkyrie Slumbering, is releasing from Inferno Publishing in the spring of this year! In preparation, I'm hard at work putting together my blog and getting myself out on all the most alluring social networking sites.

On this site I'll be sharing not only details about my writing and what inspires me, but also reviews of exciting erotica books. I'm currently on the prowl for a few great reads (fantasy or sci-fi elements are a huge plus) so if you know of any, I'd love a few recommendations. I'm not picky about self or traditionally published, but for me to read self-published novels they have to be well edited and a great cover doesn't hurt (it is a reflection of the author's commitment to the success of the novel after all).

More details about my novella, and the cover reveal, are coming soon!
