Hump Day and VS Tour: Double Trouble, Again!

First, I'm thrilled to be jumping back into the Hump Day Hook party! HDH is a group of romance and/or erotica authors who share an excerpt of their work on hump day and hop around to read and comment. Without further ado, here is my hook, from my fantasy novella, Valkyrie Slumbering:


Unable to take it any longer, I finally ask, “Out with it. What’s eating at you?”
His eyes flit across my body. Pink spreads across his cheeks, and I can’t help but recall his hands around me, his hard body beneath mine. Perhaps I should have chosen different words.
